• Orbital Period (Year): The time it takes for Venus to complete one orbit around the Sun is approximately 225 Earth days. This is the length of a Venusian year. 
Why This Happens
This bizarre situation is due to Venus having an extremely slow and retrograde rotation: 
• Slow Rotation: Venus is the slowest-rotating planet in the solar system. Scientists believe its original rotation may have been slowed over billions of years by the gravitational pull of the Sun and drag from its incredibly thick atmosphere.
• Retrograde Rotation: Unlike Earth and most other planets, Venus spins backward (clockwise when viewed from above its North Pole). This is called retrograde rotation, and it means the Sun rises in the west and sets in the east on Venus. 
The Solar Day Twist
To make things even stranger, the time from one sunrise to the next on Venus—what we call a solar day—is only about 117 Earth days. 
This is because the planet's slow, backward spin (243 days) combined with its faster orbit (225 days) means the Sun appears to move across the sky at a different rate than the planet's actual rotation. In effect, the Sun will appear to rise twice during the planet's single 243-day rotation period.
