The Fourth Arm was a British television series produced by the BBC in 1983.

The twelve-part serial dealt with secret agents parachuted into occupied Europe during the Second World War, following their progress through initial recruitment and training, and finally their first mission in enemy territory.
The Fourth Arm was created and produced by Gerard Glaister, who had previously been at the helm of other World War II dramas such as Colditz and Secret Army.

SOE agents are sent on a mission to destroy a V1 flying bomb facility, situated in an underground bunker un Northern France. Ordinary people are recruited and subjected to highly demanding training in the seclusion of a large house in the country. They train for a parachute jump, and perform a trial operation in a real French village. Can their extraordinary training give such ordinary people a real chance to succeed?

The theme and incidental music were composed by Angela Richards And Michael Reed for a large orchestra.
