In a previous video when we first began our history channel, we looked at Who Were The SS, Himmler's brutal military group. However in this video, we look at the SA, a rather interesting yet brutal paramilitary group that helped Adolf Hitler to become the Fuhrer of Germany.

The SA were a hugely Nazi group who believed in the policies of the Nazi Party. Under the stewardship of Hitler and various other leaders such as the influential Ernst Rohm, they would go on to be one of history's most feared, savage and disgusting groups. Initially the SA were made up of ex-World War 1 soldiers who were angry at the Treaty of Versailles, and during the Weimar Governments reign over Germany, lots of paramilitary action and political dissatisfaction took place, being known as the Freikorp movement.

The SA or Sturmabteilung were the most powerful group of paramilitary's that were tied in extremely strongly to the Nazis. They would disrupt political meetings of enemies such as communists, and intimidate people when they voted thus influencing elections. Also they would brutally attack their enemies.
