Dr. dos Santos has more than 100 publications on hallucinogens and cannabinoids, with more than 60 of these publications on ayahuasca. He worked as a researcher in five experimental studies in healthy volunteers and in three clinical trials (depression, social anxiety) involving the administration of ayahuasca. He participated in more than 60 experimental sessions involving the administration of ayahuasca.
