THE SOFTVISION CONCEPT 1992 Promo

Описание к видео THE SOFTVISION CONCEPT 1992 Promo

Stephen Berry and Lars Welinder from Softvision explain the Softvision concept along with showing excerpts from some of the early films. This video also has appearances by Bill Gates, Jim Manzi and Paul Brainerd talking about the companies and products they pioneered.

Softvision was a leading producer of learning films for all the major software products in the market in the early 1990s onwards. DOS-based software and early Windows software were not particularly intuitive or friendly and Softvision's "TV talk-show" concept was designed to make it easier for viewers to understand and navigate software programs and computer concepts of the era.

Softvision productions were filmed live and unscripted and relied on the knowledge of the software expert and the ad hoc ability of the host to ensure all the major topics were covered and that difficult concepts were clarified for the viewer. Softvision was highly regarded by software publishers and industry figures of the time who saw that their customers had a more positive relationship with their products and understanding of emerging concepts.

For that reason, many of the leading industry CEOs and identities of the time are seen in Softvision videos discussing important topics and the future of computing.

Sit back and enjoy this trip back to the heady days of the computer industry.
