IMPULSE (1984) Clip - Meg Tilly in Ballet Class

Academy Award-nominated Meg Tilly (Agnes of God, Valmont) is such a magnificent actor that I was surprised to discover she initially pursued a career as a dancer (on a full dance scholarship in NYC and belonged to a couple of ballet companies) before a back injury led her into acting. Tilly can be glimpsed briefly dancing as an extra through the movie "FAME" (1980), but this opening sequence from the suspense thriller "IMPULSE" provides a slightly better look. Though primarily executing dance moves performed in the center, you still get a sense of what a gifted dancer she must have been.
"Impulse" was directed by Graham Baker and screenplay by Don Carlos Dunaway and Nicholas Kazan. Co-starring Hume Cronyn, James Earl Jones, Bill Paxton, John Karlen, and Amy Stryker.
