How to Use a Chatter Tool in Woodturning - WOOD magazine

Add a decorative element to your turned woodworking projects by using a chatter tool, which is simply a flexible blade in a handle. When drawn across a rotating surface, the blade vibrates and skips, gouging the surface in a repetitive pattern. Noted turner Phil Brennion demonstrates the technique in this video.
