Here we have one of the last 288s available that I put the hurt on in the porting department for a guy up in Oregon. It has the lastest and greatest work performed on it. The Stihl is no slouch and is for a guy in Nevada. It was worked on congruently with the 288, so the porting style is the same. The 288, however, has a better base platform to start with than the Stihl and can be made to run stronger.
Incidently, I measured the cut after the saw off - 30".
