So, what is the best way to control a horde in Vermintide? On the difficulties recruit and veteran you can hold a horde on your own, but as soon as you start playing on Champion you should always hold a horde as a team. Your ability to control a horde is also dependent of the weapon you are using. The other combo for a horde that only has small rats in it, is to do three light attacks followed by a shove. But, I urge you to test around with the weapons of your choice, so you can hold hordes more effectively. Keep in mind that most sideswipes are the way to go if you want to hold a horde. Nearly all weapons have some sort of sideswipe to them. But be aware that some weapons are better to control many enemies at once because they can cleave trough more enemies with one swing. If you want to know how good your weapon cleaves through enemies you can look it up in your Inventory, by clicking the gear symbol next to you equipped weapon. In this menu you will see the strengths and weaknesses of your weapon. But don’t write off a weapon just because the stats might not be that good try out all weapons and decide after playing with them. Back to controlling a horde. Dodging while controlling a horde will add to your evasiveness and result into you being hit way less than if you wouldn’t dodge at all. So, to bring it all together. To control a horde, use the sideswipes of your weapon, occasionally shove the enemies and dodge to avoid being hit. Also try to have your back facing towards a wall to have less angles the enemies can come from. And one more thing please don’t use bombs to kill hordes, use them for bosses instead.
