How to install OpenTX on an FrSKY Horus transmitter

In this Simplify OpenTX video, we look at how to backup FrOS and install OpenTX on an FrSKY Horus transmitter. In this video, we will be using an X10S Express.

While I've made every effort to show this tutorial as simply as possible, and cover all aspects. I do not take any responsibility for for issues that you may have during this procedure. As illustrated, it should work perfectly fine. But if you perform this upgrade you do so at your own risk. I have heard that people have had issues were the transmitter will not turn on. However, if your transmitter makes a noise when you attach the USB to your computer, it is not dead. If this happens, all I can suggest it to:
leave the transmitter switched off
Plug in the USB to the transmitter and the computer
Use the ImpulseRC driver fixer (link above) to ensure the transmitter is in DFU mode
Use OpenTX companion to flash the correct version of OpenTX to your transmitter    • How to install OpenTX on an FrSKY Hor...  
This will hopefully bring the transmitter back. If not, unfortunately, you will need to contact your country's main FrSky dealer for a repair.
