This speech was part of the Southeast Asia Summit on Prosperity and Sustainability (SEAPS), held at Stanford University on May 19–20, 2025. The summit gathered hundreds of academics, professionals, business leaders, government officials, and organizations from Southeast Asia and around the world.

In this session, Gita Wirjawan addressed three key themes concerning Southeast Asia: (1) the region’s socio-cultural, economic, geographic, and natural resource potential; (2) the urgent challenges that must be tackled to enable regional progress; and (3) strategic approaches to help Southeast Asia navigate an increasingly volatile global landscape.

About Gita Wirjawan:
Gita is an Indonesian entrepreneur and educator. He is the founding partner of Ikhlas Capital and the chairman of Ancora Group. Currently, he is teaching at Stanford as a visiting scholar with Stanford's Precourt Institute for Energy; and a fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.
