On Saturday, March 10, 2012, the Orion Art Center hosted its annual Dragon Gala at Addison Oaks in Leonard, MI. The event is the Center's largest fundraiser of the year, providing support for classes, exhibits, events, and the annual Dragon the Lake Event. During the event, Executive Director Lauren Dinneweth presented the award for 2012 Artist of the Year to Al Brown, and the award for 2012 Patron of the Arts was given to Dave Schurman of Diamond Dave's Jewelers.
