Ford Transit Mk1, Mk2, Mk3 & Mk4 vans & pickups (UK-market 1st & 2nd generation Transits)

Ford's legendary Transit van & pickup is the subject of this classic collection, with early Mk1 & Mk2 Transits joined by the later Mk3 & Mk4 (the latter often referred to as the "smiley" thanks to its grille shape).
UK-market vans & pickups pre-dominate but there also a number of special-bodied Fords in this mixture, including campers, ambulances, fire-fighting vans, recovery trucks, minibus, ice cream vans and other variants based on the classic Ford Transit chassis.
There can be few people around in the UK who haven't experienced a Transit at some point, directly or indirectly, perhaps hired during a housemove, belonging to tradepeople working on your house, or pemaybe rhaps acting as a transport for your band's equipment in between gigs! My thanks to Keith who provided a number of the older photos showing Transits in service with his family's plant hire business back in the day, the rest are vehicles that I've seen here and there over the years. Your memories of the Ford Transit Mk1-Mk4 welcomed as always in the comments. Sadly Transits are no longer made in the UK, so this collection of photos harks back to when they were truly British-built vehicles.
