As a film director, composer, performer, and CEO of Fortresses, Hines blends art, music, and community into one powerful vision. With an astonishing 35 completed albums spanning Jazz, Funk, Soul, Afro-beat, and Hip-Hop, his work carries the legacy of a true cultural architect.

Now, Hines is expanding even further with his new feature film Halflight—a project that showcases his eye for storytelling and his ability to bridge music with cinema. His ensemble, FORTRESSES (Progressive Community Artist Development), remains a cornerstone of cultural collaboration in Hampton Roads, working with venues and organizations like The Norva, Chrysler Museum, Norfolk Neon District, and the Contemporary Arts Network.

Previously featured on Virginia Currents (VPM), Hines has also built an impressive resume as a composer and actor, with credits including “Stooping to Stand: Stories of the African American Staff of the Dooley Mansion” (2021) and more.
