Bridgeport Switching Special: EMD NW2 Farewell (April 12, 2023)

This is a Bridgeport Switching special and a final farewell to an EMD NW2 switcher. The action starts off at FM-920 where we see SILX #4 switching out the plant on the east side. After this, we relocated to 1st Street, where AKDN #101 was sitting at. AKDN 101 was a former Frisco EMD NW2. After sitting outside the processing plant for 10 years, it was decided that the locomotive was no longer worth keeping, and was slowly getting scrapped on site. While parts were being taken off the NW2, SILX #4 came along with a “cut” of cars from the plant. The SW8 would perform some various switching during this point. The highlight would soon come after though, where SILX #4 would move to relocate what was left of the NW2. After some additional switching, the SW8 would head back to the plant, and one final picture of the NW2 was taken.
