Well, let's talk activated carbon pellets and self sourcing them if you don't want to buy it from Nevermore (or other supplier) directly.

Generally any carbon pellet could work unless they are acid washed as acid washed carbon will rust all the internals of your printer in a matter of hours.

However, it's quite simple to test whether your carbon is acid-washed by using a closed container, fan with heater and couple screws.

Stay safe and filter the air that's coming out of your printer :)
