In this session we examined three DMVs - sys.dm_exec_connections, sys.dm_exec_sessions and sys.dm_exec_requests. We talked about how we can understand the information they expose and use this information for performance troubleshooting in terms of locks, deadlocks, long-running queries, and query tuning with simple indexes.

I worked with Microsoft SQL Server hands-on for about 11 years up till June 2019. Before then I was well versed in Service Management (ITIL) and Application Support. I still do hands-on but not in production environments. I have written articles for SQL Server Central, MS SQL Tips and CodingSight.

My approach to sharing this knowledge is the point of view of a technical person with hands-on experience in certain areas of SQL Server (not all areas). Beyond theoretical knowledge, I want whatever you glean from the sessions to be useful in the workplace.

Do well to watch and share this video to other Data Professional. I have also delved into Enterprise Architecture general and Data Architecture and will be sharing my learning in those areas from the point of view of a "Newbie"
