Project description
In this project Venture Cafe Rotterdam was temporarily closing.
They wanted to make a "goodbye for now" video recognizing their achievements over the years, how far they've come and paying homage to their loyal and creative community.

The challenge was creating something compelling with limited resources we had. Time and workforce. Since I was the only videographer to work on this, and we had a deadline for beginning of November 2023. We started mid October.

To overcome this we knew we had to limit the scope of the project and length. We decided we must stick with one core idea, and keep it short ( under 2 mins).

Our core Idea was "goodbye for now, but look how much we've all achieved"
with the goal of leaving a feeling of positivity, gratitude and opportunity.

Project Timeline
Stage 1
Storyboarding and inspiration to for options to achieve projects goals
Collaborating with executives on writing the story and agreeing on vision for final project ("What do we want to say?")
Deciding who to interview and what stories they have to support the video.


Stage 2
Recording Broll that supports the story
Finding suitable music
Booking dates with interviewees
Renting lights and setting up a shot
Creating a rough structural edit with some footage and Broll
send this to VC executives for feedback and adjustments so they can get a clear idea of what it will eventually look like

Stage 3
Majority of footage is shot
Editing final versions
Send another rough cut to VC team for feedback and adjustments
Meetings to make precise adjustments and talk about what to add/remove.

Stage 4
All final details are added in post production.
Colour correction, audio mastering, titles, graphics and credits are fully rendered.
Send final version for review by myself and VC team
Any last little details are polished and the project goes live.

Project Completion.
