What do you need in order to build a computer? It turns out that any computer program running on any input can be modeled using Conway's Game of Life: a simple two-dimensional grid of points that turn black or white based on simple rules. In this talk we'll talk about another way of modeling such a computer, using origami: just like Life, it turns out that paper folding flat can model computation.
