Mind & Muscle: Boost Your Focus with Memory and Movement Exercises

Описание к видео Mind & Muscle: Boost Your Focus with Memory and Movement Exercises

Join us for a full-body workout that challenges both your mind and body! This session incorporates memory and coordination exercises to improve focused attention, spatial awareness, and overall mental clarity—all while keeping your body moving. Perfect for those looking to sharpen their mind and enhance physical fitness.

Functional fitness exercises enhance cognitive functions such as memory, executive function, and processing speed. This classe will focus on exercises that mimic daily activities, improving the ability to perform tasks independently and efficiently. Functional fitness also improves overall physical health, including muscle strength, endurance, and flexibility, essential for maintaining mobility and preventing age-related physical decline.

Our team will also introduce you to "dual-tasking." Dual tasking involves doing physical and cognitive tasks simultaneously, like walking while solving puzzles. This approach enhances both cognitive and motor functions and improves brain plasticity.

Start small and gradually increase the intensity of your activities. Join CEP this week to workout and stay modivated!

CEP Community Live is a supportive space that offers weekly informative videos and discussions for those with early-stage memory loss, also known as mild cognitive impairment (MCI), their care partners and families, and clinicians.

MCI is a condition characterized by a noticeable decline in memory and cognitive abilities that is greater than what would be considered normal for a person's age but not severe enough to interfere significantly with daily life activities. It is a transitional stage between normal age-related cognitive changes and more serious cognitive impairment, such as dementia.

CEP Community Live is supported by the Harriet and Charlie Shaffer Cognitive Empowerment Program. Through a unique research partnership with Emory University and the Georgia Institute of Technology, the Cognitive Empowerment program is a research program designed to co-create a sustainable learning community that promotes joy, purpose, brain health, and wellness through innovation and personalized lifestyle programs, technologies, and physical environments.

Our vision is to empower people facing memory loss and cognitive changes by creating an evidence-based model for lifestyle interventions that can be replicated nationally and internationally.

Our programming includes cognitive training, physical training, nutrition, support groups, and a host of other topics to increase their sense of empowerment and community and hopefully decrease their symptoms.
