Pisgah Banjo Sessions with Zoe and Cloyd - "Salt River" - OHPR

This week's Old Home Place Recording is a real treat and a total manifestation of collaboration. We paired up with filmmaker Cheyne Lempe, influential old-time/bluegrass band Zoe and Cloyd, and banjo craftsman Patrick David Sawyer from Pisgah Banjos. After a day of banjo building, Patrick put together an evening hang, behind the shop where Cheyne and I captured some amazing tunes.

Zoe & Cloyd is composed of renowned fiddler and vocalist Natalya Zoe Weinstein and award-winning songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist John Cloyd Miller. They are extremely down to earth, humble, musicians that can really lay down a tune.

Patrick was an amazing host for my buddy Cheyne who stayed on the property filming a piece about the banjo shop. His family was warm and welcoming to us as we followed them all around sticking cameras in their faces. He is also a talented banjo player who has the pleasure of playing the banjos that he creates!
