We waited 8 full months before we checked in on our giant bags of leaf mold that we started in October. See this video for how we set up the bags initially:

Two of the bags suffered a little bit of dehydration through some extra large holes, so unfortunately those leaves were not as far along as I hoped. However, Landon dug down deep into the bags and we still retrieved some excellent, mostly processed leaf mold that I could use in my worm bins. After we finished shooting this video, Landon thoroughly wet down the contents of all bags and set them aside to continue composting.

We are delighted with the results of our first attempt at making this fantastic garden amendment and worm bedding. This fall, you can be sure I will be going back to Fawcett Mattress, our local mattress manufacturer, for even more giant plastic bags so we can double our production for 2023!
