A namesake, a twist of fate, and a happy ending

It was all Magical when Mandeep, a Blood Cancer Survivor from Punjab met Mandeep, his lifesaver!

Mandeep, a 35-year-old farmer from Punjab, was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in 2009. Mandeep had to wait for over three years before an HLA matching unrelated donor was identified with the help of DKMS BMST Foundation India and he underwent stem cell transplant in January 2020.

Mandeep, a 39-year-old software professional, registered as a blood stem cell donor in a registration drive organised by DKMS-BMST in his office in 2018. After almost a year of registration, he received a call saying that he has come as a match for a blood cancer patient.

Finally, they had the opportunity to meet each other, where they could express their emotions and share their journey of giving and receiving a second chance at life.
