PAVANA DAM ll DUDHIWARE KHIND ll Best Place to Visit in Monsoon near Mumbai and Pune

Pavana Dam is constructed across the Pavana River. This is a nice place to spend some time with family and friends.

Pavana dam - is source of water to the pimpri chinchwad area. God gifted this area by Pawana dam.
Pawana dam is one of the excellent place for one day outing. It is surrounded by the forts like Lohgad, Tikona, Tung and Visapur which will add beauty to it.

During raily season most of the people visited this spot.To reach to the dam you have take old mumbai pune highway & at Kamshet you have to take(left turn if coming from Pune & right turn if coming from mumbai)
main highway it is around 17 km far. There is a small board written like pawana nagar.

If you are coming from Pune then recommended come from Paud Gaon as this road is more scenic if compared to Kamshet road.The backwaters of this dam provide a wonderful view.

The way from Lonavla to Pavana Dam is 20 km.

Lonavala -- Bhangarwadi -- Kusgaon -- Aundhegaon --Dudhivarekhind -- Pratipandharpur -- Pavana Dam

Distance from Pune: Around 45 km (via Paud), Around 65 km (via Kamshet)

Distance from Mumbai: Around 108 km (via Mumbai-Pune Expy), Around 109 km (via NH 4)

Pune - Pavananagar via Paud is beautiful during monsoon.The Tikona fort is close to this dam.
Seven Kilometers from this dam is Mantra Mandir at Parti-Pandharpur. Aamby Valley City is also close to this dam.

Pavna Dam is very popular destination for weekends, tent stay is top most attraction of camping sites. there are more than 40 campsites around Pavna Dam.
Facilities provided by most of these campsites are tea snacks, Unlimited dinner, Campfire, BBQ, Music, Swimming inside lake, boting, hors riding, etc.

Forts near pawna lake : Lohgad, Tung, Visapur and Tikona
Near this dam there is a Baba Maharaj Satarkar math. Its also good place to visit.
You will get your lunch as a mahaprasad there between 12 to 2 pm. Also there are rooms in math where you can stay with very minimum Charges.
It's weekend getaway near pune - Pawana dam, Hadshi, Prati Pandharpur
There is also Lohadad Boat club and Restaurant - A dam side resort where one can spend day.
You can enjoy boating , water sports here. Also there is a island in the dam which attracts everybody.
Lots of Film advertising shootings are going near by this area. Also there is a Hadashi temple about 15km from this dam.
