Описание к видео Dr. Anjali Daimari on Women’s Justice, Peacebuilding & Political Change | Ep-52 | Bodo Podcast

In this inspiring episode of the Life and Learning Podcast, we sit down with Dr. Anjali Daimari, President of the Alternative Party of Boroland (APB), a visionary leader, activist, translator, and cultural icon whose journey has touched countless lives.

Dr. Daimari shares her remarkable experiences of representing the Boro and other indigenous voices on global platforms such as the United Nations conferences and workshops in Geneva, New York, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, and Nepal. She reflects on what it means to carry the voice of her people across the world — from Kathmandu to Oxford and New York — and recounts some of her most powerful moments on these global stages.

We also dive into her pivotal role in the Boro Women’s Justice Forum, where she has been a strong voice against violence and an ally in bringing peace to the Boro community, including her courageous efforts in working with the NDFB towards a ceasefire and bridging differences among Bodo organizations.

Dr. Daimari opens up about receiving prestigious recognitions such as the Bagejori Bai Award, Bhimbor Deori Award, and Bor Axom Samannay Award, and how these honors strengthened her mission to fight for women’s rights and social justice.

Beyond activism, she takes us on a journey through her contributions to art and literature — from acting in the landmark Bodo film Swrmwn Nwng (1987) to the recent Gorai Phakhri / Wild Swan (2023), as well as memorable performances on Doordarshan and All India Radio. She also reflects on her celebrated career as a translator of eminent writers like Mamoni Raisom Goswami, Syed Abdul Malik, and Janil Kumar Brahma, a pursuit that earned her the Sahitya Akademi Award.

In the political sphere, Dr. Daimari offers her candid perspective on the absence of women’s representation in the BTC for 22 years, and why women must be part of policy-making in a region where nearly half the population is female. She further explains the vision and ideology behind the Alternative Party of Boroland (APB) — why it was formed after the signing of the last BTR Accord, and how it aims to stand apart from other political parties.

Finally, Dr. Daimari leaves a heartfelt message for the youth — urging them to stay committed to peace, justice, and equal opportunity — a message that is bound to motivate and inspire.

👉 A must-listen episode for anyone interested in women’s empowerment, peacebuilding, indigenous rights, politics, literature, and cultural identity.
