Lovecraft Country’s fourth episode gives us a genre shift with an adventure themed episode. Tic, Leti, and Montrose decide to travel from Chicago to Boston to search Titus Braithwhite’s pages from the Book of Names. This episode 4 review will help you understand what happened. The ending may be confusing for viewers who haven’t read the book of the same name that the HBO series is based on. In this video we explain this “action/adventure” episode where the gang go exploring for the hidden underground vault. Hippolyta and Diana come along for the ride, and may be heading to Devon County for more information about uncle George’s death.

Christina Braithwhite is still in Chicago and she is looking for the orrery that belonged to Hiram Epstein. She visits Leti expecting it to be in the Winthrop house. Hippolyta currently has the orrery which Christina tells Captain Lancaster has something to do with time travel. Lovecraft Country episode 4 also continues the trend of not showing William and Christina on screen at the same time.

William goes after Ruby, and they end up drinking together. He takes her home and they hook up as she’s still reeling from missing her opportunity to get the job she wanted.

Later, in search of missing pages to a crucial text, Leti, Tic,and Montrose head to Boston, with Hippolyta and Diana along for the ride. Back in Chicago, a handsome stranger nurses Ruby's disappointment over a squandered job opportunity.

Based on Matt Ruff's novel of the same name, Lovecraft Country follows Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors) as he meets up with his friend Letitia (Jurnee Smollett) and his uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father (Michael Kenneth Williams). This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback.
