Hello there and welcome! Today I'm taking you with me as we ride TriMet's NEW 47 alignment! In March 2025, TriMet (the Transit Agency serving the Portland Metro Area of Oregon) changed the routing of the 47 Bus line to go to Willow Creek Transit Center via Stucki, Walker road and 185th Ave, from it's original alignment that went up 185th, Bronson and 174th ave to PCC Rock Creek. So why not ride it and give you a trip report?

Did you notice the Suburban Sheep? I love that the City of Hillsboro allows small and medium farm animals like them in developed Suburbia. Beaverton is exactly the opposite and has a fit over any suggestions that maybe they could be more lenient and allow for at least backyard quail or chickens. So thank you Hillsburrito for that!

I originally had gone out this day (May 7th, 2025) to run a transit gauntlet Miles in Transit style, making a 114.9 mile long Transit Loop starting and ending at Willow Creek TC using ONLY transit. I had mentioned multiple times to myself, online, to my TriMet watchdog friends and transit buddies that inevitably, the only 50/50 part of the trip is the first part, taking TriMet to Hillsboro Central to quickly hop onto the 33 of YCTA (YC Bus). That wasn't referring to tiny Yamhill County either - it was entirely directed at TriMet. I got out to the platform at 1:42pm, so I could guarantee I'd catch the 1:51pm Blue Line, giving me a guaranteed 12-16 minute window to catch the YCTA bus, as I'd otherwise have to catch the next Blue line, which IF ON SCHEDULE, would arrive 2 minutes before the YCTA 33 is scheduled to depart Hillsboro Central. I of course wanted to be realistic with the trip and thus avoid that crunch if at all possible. And yet, that 1:51 Blue Line NEVER came. No warning, no advisories, nothing at all. Just a ghost train that decided not to exist. And that next Blue was 3 minutes late. You can piece the rest of this together from here. Classic TriMet. Always so predictably terrible, unreliable, and uncaring. For the FIFTH LARGEST TRANSIT AGENCY IN THE UNITED STATES by budget, TriMet functions at a teeny tiny agency's level. The small ones are understandable seeing they have little funding yearly, and serve a tiny population overall. But when you are the 5th largest in budget, you have ZERO excuses possible for why you are so damn bad at doing what your entire purpose is in the first place. So, I'm aiming for next week to try this loop again. I will make it work one way or another. So stay tuned for those videos!
