‘Sounds of Kashmir’ is a collaborative act that brings together two generational talents from Kashmir: one folk, one contemporary - one who plays the Kashmiri rabab, and the other displaying proficiency in the guitar. Noor Mohammad Shah is a famous folk singer, amassing fame as an online sensation for his powerful vocals and melodious riffs on the rabab, playing soulful renditions of Kashmiri folk songs. On the other hand, Ali Saffudin is a talented singer-songwriter from Srinagar known for his powerful vocal tone. Their collaboration resulted in the rendition of "Aye Subhik Waav", a Kashmiri folk song acquainting us with not just the sounds of Kashmir but its silvery-toned soul. The act was showcased at the second edition of our virtual fundraiser, I Believe Art Matters 2021, on October 10, 2021.
