Here is a fun and relatively late entry from Paul Terry's Aesop's Fables series. Some 450+ cartoons were produced as part of the silent Aesop's series, which ran from 1921 through 1929. Many cartoons in the series featured Farmer Alfalfa, while others did not.

The version seen here was prepared by TV distributor Commonwealth in the late 1940s. 16mm print and SD reference copy courtesy of the Stathes Collection.
