13 reasons why gel polish might crack, peel or chip

1. Oils, creams, cuticle remover left on nail plate
2. Cuticle left on nail plate
3. Free edge is not filed
4. Nail underneath is not cleaned
5. Dehydrator
6. Primer on the free edge if needed
7. Base coat is too thick, color or top coat
8. Don’t cap the free edge
9. Undercuring
10. Base, color, top too close tot he skin
11. Clients touch nails after prep
12. Crack is not fixed
13. Using different brands of top and base, sometimes color
