Be Still My Soul (Finlandia), organ work by Phil Lehenbauer

Описание к видео Be Still My Soul (Finlandia), organ work by Phil Lehenbauer

Jean Sibelius' 1900 tone poem "Finlandia" gave us the hymn tune by the same name, and is usually known by the text "Be Still, My Soul". It is a common hymn for memorials and funerals. When I was at Harvard two weeks ago, in their Morning Prayers service we sang to the text of "This Is My Song", which began with words so fitting for today's troubled landscape:
This is my song, O God of all the nations,
A song of peace for lands afar and mine.

This recording and video are from Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where I play each Sunday. The first performance of this work was by James Flores, and you can hear his beautiful version here:    • Be Still, My Soul (Finlandia) - Phil ...

Thanks for listening! The title cover pic is one I took at Canterbury Cathedral, England in 2023. If you have questions about the availability of this work, email me at [email protected] for further info.
