Usually in most common cases, data in MARC21 format moves from MarcEdit to Koha via uploading of MARC records into Koha ILS. However, the reverse is also possible. We can use MarcEdit's ILS integration feature which has been around since 2012, to fetch MARC records into MarcEdit's MarcEditor, edit them in batch, including using the highly flexible and powerful regular expressions (regex) and then uploading / updating the records back into Koha.

In this view, we use MarcEdit to pull up a batch of records from Koha using their biblionumber into MarcEdit's MarcEditor; batch modify them using a regex and then upload the changes back into Koha. And if you are wondering there something like this may come handy, well one use-case jumps up immediately. Koha's batch MARC modification tool can't deal with MARC control fields i.e. 0XX ones. Using this technique you can just do that as well.
