HOW TO: Attach training cord to a sturdy pole or fence at hip height. Firmly grab handles and stand with a slight bend in your knees. Drop your shoulders away from your neck. Mimic the movement of a rowing motion by keeping your fists and elbows tightly tucked into your sides as you begin to pull the cord back. Slowly extend your arms out to their starting position. This is one rep. Continue for building strength, stability and endurance.

WHY: The Standing Row is really great for building tricep, bicep and forearm strength. It encourages you to find mind and body connection by working on a variety of muscles at once. Avoid using momentum to really target the working muscles. Increased arm strength will make you more powerful in the water for better practices and faster races!
