Azure VMware Solution Architecture & Design

Azure VMware Solution provides you with private clouds that contain vSphere clusters built from dedicated bare-metal Azure infrastructure. The minimum initial deployment is three hosts, but additional hosts can be added one at a time, up to a maximum of 16 hosts per cluster. All provisioned private clouds have vCenter Server, vSAN, vSphere, and NSX-T. As a result, you can migrate workloads from your on-premises environments, deploy new virtual machines (VMs), and consume Azure services from your private clouds.

Shannon is currently a Cloud Advocate on the Enterprise Tools and Platform team, which rolls up to the broader Methods and Practices team. She focuses on evangelizing the Azure VMware Solutions platform as a way to get IT pros comfortable with a life post cloud.


This offering allows customers to seamlessly extend or completely migrate existing on-premises VMware workloads to Azure without the cost, effort, or risk of re-architecting applications or retooling operations.
