The process for appointing the new president of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) has advanced to its final stages, with a team of central observers arriving in Bhubaneswar. Charan Das Mahant and Meenakshi Nataraj were greeted by legislature party leader Ramchandra Kadam, as well as members of the Students' and Youth Congress during their visit.

Charan Das Mahant stated, "I have been sent from Delhi; the lobby will not influence my work. I have come from the high command, and both junior and senior members will be heard." This underscores the observers' intention to gather input from party members at all levels.

The supervisory team is expected to submit its report on November 23, paving the way for the selection of the new OPCC president and setting the direction for the party's future in Odisha.
