The National Ukrainian Opera after by composer K.Dankevych - Bohdan Khmelnytsky.
The premiere took place on 24 and 25 December 2005 and was dedicated to the 410th anniversary of Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky and the 100 - anniversary of the composer Konstantin Dankevych.

To realize this ambitious nationwide project was to attract the best creative forces in Ukraine - VASYL VASYLENKO (author of the new musical version of Opera, conductor - director), YEVHEN STANKOVYCH the composer (musical version of the finale of the opera), VASYL VOVKUN (stage director), TADEI and MICHAEL RYNZAK (artists - directors of the Lviv National Opera and Ballet), OKSANA ZINCHENKO (costume designer, Lviv), VIKTOR POKHYLENKO (choreographer - director, Kirovograd).

This performance has aroused great interest among the audience, culture and the arts, media and was featured in Kiev in Ukraine Unification Day January 22, 2006 in the hall of the National Opera of Ukraine. In the same year the opera was shown in Lviv.

The opera was an All-Ukrainian event, a grand theatrical spectacle, which shows the historical pattern of the past. And today is the best in Ukraine staging of historical opera , which makes the viewer a sense of patriotism and pride, regardless of its accommodation in the West or the East of Ukraine. Opera "Bogdan Khmelnitsky" has become a real event, which began the whole of Ukraine.
