Ji Chang-wook said, "After reading the script, I thought, 'This could be a diverse show,'" and urged viewers to pay attention to the compelling characters and their relationships. He emphasized, "I had a personal ambition. I had the desire and confidence to do well."

Describing his character, he said, "He's a man who diligently pursues his dreams. He's framed and his life falls apart. After that, he learns about a mysterious incident and realizes there's someone behind it. He ends up chasing after Yoh-an (plaid by Do Kyung-soo), the last of the masterminds."

He continued, "My goal was to express the emotions of the situation rather than the character. Rather than making Tae-joong attractive, my biggest challenge was to fully express the emotions Tae-joong felt within the situation he was in."
