Although there are theories suggesting that some of its elements originated in the mountainous areas of northern Andalusia, such as the Sierra Morena or the Alpujarras, flamenco is considered to have primarily emerged and developed in the plains and coastal areas of Andalusia.

The cities of Seville, Cádiz, and Jerez de la Frontera played a crucial role in the birth and evolution of flamenco, due to their multiculturalism and the confluence of different ethnic and cultural groups, such as Gypsies, Arabs, Jews, and Christians.

The mountainous areas, for their part, may have contributed some musical and cultural elements to flamenco, such as certain styles of singing and dancing, but they are not considered the main place where this art originated.

It is important to highlight that flamenco has a complex and diverse origin, the product of the mixture of different cultures and traditions. There is no single place or exact moment in which it was born, but rather it evolved over time in different regions of Andalusia.
