She served as co-anchor of the program from November 30, 1987 until February 23, 1990, after which she left CBS News. Harry Smith hosted the CBS News morning programs, The Early Show and its predecessor, CBS This Morning, for seventeen years. In July 2011, Smith left CBS News.
