The dissolution of the Future Forward Party by Thailand’s Constitutional Court on Feb. 21 has shaken up Thailand’s political landscape, at a stroke eliminating a party which won the support of millions of Thais, especially young, first-time voters, eager for change and for fresh faces in parliament.

The former party’s founder Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, who was banned from politics for 10 years, along with 15 party executives, has promised to continue his efforts for democratic reform in the country. The remaining MPs of the dissolved party have 60 days from the date of dissolution to find a new party, and most have indicated they will continue to be part of the opposition in parliament.

The FCCT is pleased to welcome Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, who discusses his views of the political and social landscape in Thailand and his current activities.

The session is followed by a question and answer session and a talk by the former Future Forward MP Pita Limjaroenrat, who speaks about the way forward after the dissolution, and prospects for the parliamentary process.
