HEAVY RAIN Camping ALONE - Strange Lights and an Unwanted Visitor

I love camping in the rain. On this camp I took my Pomoly Hussar 2.0 Hot Tent and went out to camp in heavy rain. I was hoping for a relaxing camp, listening to the sound of the rain on the tent. It poured and poured. I had a lovely cosy camp set up, until I saw strange scary lights down the valley, and they were not only pointing my way but coming towards me. It was frightening and I considered leaving camp and returning to my car, but decided to face my fears and stick it out for the night. Along with unwanted visitors I also had to face rising river levels and the worry that the camp might be flooded out. Facing challenging situations is part of spending time in the outdoors. I like how challenges build my resilience and help me to have confidence in my ability to handle difficult situations. After a rough evening I had a great nights sleep and a lovely relaxing morning chilling out at camp.
For this camp I was in Arthur's Pass National Park and so not able to bring my dog Indi along with me. She will be back on the next trip.
