Aavegotchi is a worldwide popular project that reminds many people of the Japanese little Tamagotchi robots that were popular back in the 90s. This crypto collectible game is the recipient of an Aave Ecosystem Grant, yet many mistake it for an official Aave project. In November 2020, Aave invested in the Singaporean studio called Pixelcraft Studios, setting up contests and providing assistance to its protocol whose mainnet was launched last year.

Aavegotchi combines NFT with DeFi. The game is initially built on the Ethereum network. Users can buy and grow Aavegotchies, little funny pixelated NFT avatars used to explore and interact with Aavegotchi’s digital universe. Avatars can be used for staking with an interest-generating aToken while still allowing their owners to interact with the Aavogotchi metaverse.
