New Zealand Stamps Worth Money - Part 2 | 80 Rare Expensive New Zealand Philately

Описание к видео New Zealand Stamps Worth Money - Part 2 | 80 Rare Expensive New Zealand Philately

This is another episode of New Zealand Classic Philately. New Zealand issued its first postage stamp in July 1855. The design was adapted from a painting of the young Queen Victoria by the artist A E Chalon. These stamps are known as 'Chalon Heads" or "Full Face Queens". These are differentiated from a later issue with the Quean's head in profile. Postage stamps were issued in several denominations ranging from one pence to one shilling. As time passes, postage stamps were printed in different colors and on variable papers. However the basic design of Queen Victoria "Chalon Head' remained unchanged for about 18 years. It was in 1873 when a new design of half penny was introduced. Many classic postage stamps from the first design are very rare and so these are highly desirable by collectors. The only complete sheet is owned by New Zealand Post Collection. In my video I have briefly described different rare and valuable classic postage stamps. These include Chalon Heads, Postal Fiscal Stamps and also old postage stamps from New Zealand dependencies such as Cook Islands and Niue. Values mentioned in this video are only for the specific stamp shown.
