How Do Writers Conduct Research for TV Episodes?

Описание к видео How Do Writers Conduct Research for TV Episodes?

When TV episodes are written that have specific details that need to be researched - how does that happen? This is my experience of how it works on a show with a writers' room.

One CORRECTION since this video was posted: I heard from a TV researcher, who let me know that many TV research jobs are full-time (not part-time) and include on-call hours where the researcher is required to: attend meetings with experts and take notes, seek out interesting tid-bits for future storylines, sit in the writers room to offer suggestions and keep track of and follow down research requests from the team. Hats off to TV researchers!
