Описание к видео Hunter/R&M Original Oakleaf Adaptair 52" Ceiling Fan (c.1983)

Model 22837; antique brass finish with solid oak blades. Manufactured in January 1983 (this was the first year for Hunter's previous logo, which was only redesigned around 2009). 2-speed, non-reversible motor. This fan has the ornate 'Oakleaf' bottom plate, one of three decorative bottom plates (the others are Grapeleaf and Ivyleaf) that Hunter offered between the late 70s and approximately 1990. The Oakleaf set also included additional embellishments, such as ornate blade irons, and embellishments for the canopy and the side of the motor housing. Sadly, these are not present here.

The fan also has the Adaptair system, a mechanically-reversible blade system where the blades mount to a central hub; a turn key (or lever on older models) on the hub allows all four blades to rotate in tandem for updraft operation. The blade pitch in downdraft is 15 degrees, while the pitch in updraft is 18 degrees. I suppose Hunter did this because heat reclamation was important to them.

The Adaptair system was discontinued and replaced by the Reverse-Aire system in 1981 (becoming standard), so... why does a 1983 model have Adaptair? Simple: New Old Stock (NOS). During the R&M era, Hunter sold motors and blades sets separately, so the consumer had the ability to mix and match. Blade sets came with blades and irons; or in the case of Adaptair.. blades, irons, and the Adaprair hub itself. So what happened here? Whoever sold this fan was likely low on Reverse-Aire stock, so they threw in the next best thing that just happened to be sitting around collecting dust.

Performance is as one would expect from an Original. The motor only has a slight moan on low. The updraft orientation slows the fan down by about 35 RPM or so.
