How do we lead digital transformation in cities for people, not just with technology?
This live session brings together PhD candidates and young scholars from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East to debate how smart governance, e-government, AI and digital public services can genuinely improve urban life and democratic governance.

Broadcast from the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA), Bucharest, this Pre-Conference / Doctoral Workshop & IDEA LAB PANEL FOR YOUNG SCHOLARS is part of an international conference on Smart Cities – “Leading for the People, Accelerating with the Digital.” The session offers a structured space for presenting work-in-progress, testing concepts and receiving feedback from an international Advisory Council and senior academics.

Under the coordination of Conference Chair Catalin Vrabie, Diana-Camelia Iancu (Dean, Faculty of Public Administration, SNSPA) and Mălina Ciocea (Director, Doctoral School, SNSPA), the panel explores topics such as:

The IDEA LAB is designed as a discussion-driven PhD panel, where participants receive comments not only on their empirical findings, but also on their research designs, methods and implications for policy and practice in smart cities and digital governance.
