First of all I apologize for stating in the video this beer was from France, I am an idiot, it is from Belgium!!

On this episode of the Rare Beer Club I review Scaldis (Bush) Caractère Strong Belgian Amber Ale from Brasserie Dubuisson out of Pipaix, Belgium. Some of you watching probably know this as Bush not Scaldis. The name changes depending on country of purchase. With all that being said, Scaldis (Bush) Caractère is a Strong Belgian Amber Ale coming in at 12% abv. The bottle opened with a ton of gun smoke and the beer slowly began rising up out of the bottle. The beer pours out very lively with a copper color that was somewhat hazy and full of carbonation. The head was off white and very effervescent. On the nose I picked up a fruity, sour apply scent. Along with a slight peppery note. Upon drinking the beer I was bombarded with burning carbonation. There was so much carbonation I was not really able to pick up any flavors. There was a sweet fruitiness that was discernable through the invasive carbonation. The carbonation was so harsh I did not even notice the alcohol. This may be a tasty beer, but this particular bottle was so over carbonated that it ruined the drinking experience.
