Disney Wish, Halloween on the High Seas!

Join us for a spooktacular three night adventure onboard the beautiful Disney Wish!

We love celebrating Halloween as a family and we absolutely love Disney cruising. We could not think of a better way to vacation this fall! We were thrilled to sail on the first Halloween on the High Seas this year on the Wish and we hope you find this vlog series so much fun!

Arriving to Port Canaveral is very streamlined and relatively easy. After dropping our luggage with the porters, we made our way to the terminal for check in. We were surprised to find so many people waiting to board and learned that due to the Halloween decor in the Grand Hall, boarding was a bit delayed. We had plenty of time for photos and for viewing the ship from the observation deck before our group was called. Vacation officially begins for us when our family is announced as we board the ship! We got our wishing wands and peeked at the pumpkin tree being assembled then made our way to Arendelle for lunch. We have our favorite menu items we look forward to each cruise. The empanadas, pennette pasta and chicken Caesar salad as well as the mac and cheese are our standards that we look forward to each cruise. We opted to skip dessert in favor of a trip to Joyful Sweets a bit later.

For this sailing, we booked an interior stateroom on deck 9. Room 9077 is conveniently located near mid ship, though Aft elevators were closest. The room is Princess and the Frog themed with a beautiful mural over the bed and a lovely Tianna art piece over the couch. We will share a full stateroom tour in an upcoming vlog.

The mandatory Muster Drill was held shortly before sail away. We had just enough time to grab some gelato and ice cream from Joyful Sweets before heading on deck. The kids sampled some Halloween flavored gelato. There were also some rice krispie treats and a cupcake with Halloween theming in the dessert cases. We love the happy and colorful Inside Out inspired decor of the sweet shop!

Set Sail on a Wish is the themed sail away party. We definitely recommend taking time out to enjoy the show. Fairy Godmother, Mickey, Minnie and friends are all part of the show and you're sure to leave singing "I'm ready, let's set sail!". One thing we wanted to do this trip was to head up to the open deck as we sailed away. This was a lovely way to enjoy the open water and watch the shore disappear!

Evening festivities were well underway at this time. We changed into our Marvel gear and headed to the Walt Disney Theater for show time. Seas the Adventure might just be our favorite Wish show. After showtime, we had time for a photo op in the Grand Hall and then Guess Who's Behind the Curtain? Clarabelle, Minnie and Daisy as the Sanderson Sisters appeared! The Pumpkin Tree lighting was led by the Storytellers and the Grand Hall was illuminated with pumpkin glow for the remainder of the sailing.

We had requested Worlds of Marvel for our first evening and we were so excited for dinner and the show. The menu is our least favorite of all the restaurants, but we enjoyed most everything we tried. Keagan had the soup while the rest of us started with the wedge salad. Brielle had the gnocchi for her main since she had enjoyed it so much on the last cruise. Tim had the chicken schnitzel and Keagan stuck with mac and cheese as usual. I opted for the mystic pasta and substituted the scallops for chicken. Next time I would get the gnocchi. Spiderman made a special appearance. We were seated toward the back wall and unfortunately, he never came close. We had a great time with the interactive show and we enjoyed our desserts as well. We had a very full first day and we were certainly exhausted by the time dinner was over.
