Réponse de Femmes｜Exhibition

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, ART SHANGHAI collaborated with the French film archive La Cinémathèque Française to present the Chinese-French women’s film project “Réponse de Femmes“ at No.1 Waitanyuan.

This exhibition, focusing on ”Women Behind the Camera,“ brings to China for the first time a century-spanning collection of female cinematic masterpieces from the inception of cinema to the present. It aims to uncover the pioneering female creators hidden in the annals of film history. Through their uniqueness and sensitivity, these women have continuously expanded the possibilities of cinema, shaping and writing its history. The exhibition also leads the audience to observe societal changes through the lens of gender in the seventh art form, cinema.
