SWORD SKILLS

I was invited back to direct two more commercials (including this one) after the original commercials for Vanquis Bank were so successful.

This was a fun script to introduce our new heroine and show off some of her sword skills as she ‘creates’ the statue which was skilfully made by a local artist.

Shot on location in a remote part of North Wales, we used a Panagator Technocrane for most of the shots in order to squeeze the camera into this old, amazing wood which had steep banks on each side.

Thanks to my amazing crew including costume designer Emma-Jade Parker at The Costume Department, the art department team led by Lisa Westwell, director of photography Stephen Murphy and, of course, my producer Holly Arthurby at Velvet who managed to pull all this together.

Post was handled by Coffee and TV and Boardwalk Studio with the lovely grade by Dan Moran.
